Product Information

The Vecta+ Sensor Tap range are easy to install, as retrofit or new build installations. They help to improve hygiene and prevent the transfer of pathogens with no-touch controls. With an infrared tap, the water only runs while your hands are in range, so these taps reduce wasted water, increase efficiency, save energy and reduce costs, while maintaining reliability and high performance.

Made to high standards, with options for mains or battery power, out of the box as standard. Our range of infrared sensor taps have a stylish and modern design, with highly intelligent electronics, that offer a safeguard to misuse and vandalism. They provide the optimum in hygiene for the modern-day commercial washroom and comes fitted with 3.5lpm flow regulator as standard with a 5lpm flow regulator in the box, to support environmental building schemes such as BREEAM.

Features and Benefits

  • Improved hygiene and reduce the transfer of infection
  • Non touch – intuitive and easy to use. These non touch solutions are more hygienic and reduce the likelihood of spreading and receiving pathogens
  • Temperature control – adjust the temperature of the water flow with the nozzle located on the side of the tap
  • Water saving and energy efficient – the Vecta+ Sensor Tap contributes to building and environmental schemes, BREEAM
  • Easy to install and maintain – chrome finished, easy to retrofit and swap out existing manual taps. External solenoid for easier servicing
  • Mains and battery power options out of the box
  • Safety shutoff – after 60 seconds of continuous water activation via sensor detection, the tap will automatically stop the flow of water to reduce the risk of flooding
  • Smart shutoff – in the event of a power cut the device will automatically switch off the water flow to reduce the risk of a flooding event
  • Support environmental building schemes
  • Suitable for elderly or people with reduced mobility
  • Optional extra –  can added copper inlet pipes (tails)

3.5 Litres per minute: The Water Regulations require that the flow rate of a tap does not exceed 3.6 litres per minute where basins have no plug. The Vecta Plus Sensor tap configured with a 3.5 litres per minute limit will ensure compliance in such applications.  This model of flow restrictor is non-aerated and thus suitable for high risk applications such as medical facilities and care homes, where the risk to users of legionella and other water-carried respiratory contracted viruses/bacteria is high.

Aerators/Nozzles: Vecta+ Sensor infrared taps are supplied with interchangeable nozzle/aerators to allow the outlets to be configured to either a 3.5 or 5 litres per minute flow rate.

The flow of water from the taps is turned on when the user presents their hands to the infrared sensor which is located on the lower body of the Vecta+ Sensor Tap.

The infrared tap sends out an infrared LED bean (invisible to the human eye). When something interrupts this infrared beam, for example the user’s hand, the infrared light is bounced back to the receiver in the taps, which switches on the solenoid valve, to allow the water to flow.

No contact is required. The sensor automatically activates the externally-sited solenoid valve. When the user’s hands are moved away the flow of water stops after a 2 second delay.

Product FAQs

We’re here to Help!

Q
No water from tap
A

Observation – The sensor is flashing read continuously after hand is placed in sensing range

Action – Low battery. Change batteries

Observation – The sensor is not flashing at all when hands are in sensing range

Action – Battery power: Low battery. Change batteries. Mains power: Poor DC contact. Check power transformer connection

Observation – The sensor flashes red once when hands are in sensing range

Action – Water supply: Ensure water supply has been turned on and there is good working pressure. Minimum dynamic pressure 0.5 bar.

Action – Filter blockage: Vecta+ Sensor Tap or Vecta+ Sensor Spout: Check filter in flexible hose. Vecta+ Sensor Mixer Tap: Check filter in inlet to solenoid valve

Observation – The sensor is covered

Action – Anti-vandal mode has been triggered. The object/debris needs to be removed and the tap will resume normal functionality

Q
Continuous flow of water or dripping from the tap
A

Observation – Water is flowing when no user is present

Action – Water supply. Ensure water pressure is between 0.5 bar and 6 bar.

Action – Filters: Ensure filters are clear, clean if required. Vecta+ Sensor Tap and Spout filter is in inlet to control box. Vectra+ Mixer Tap filter is in flexi-hose fitting.
Debris in solenoid valve: Contact Cistermiser

Q
Water flow diminished
A

Observation – The sensor flashes red once when hands are in sensing range

Action – Filter is blocked with scale or debris.

  • Vecta+ Sensor Tap or Vecta+ Sensor Spout: Check filter in the inlet to the solenoid
