Easyflush WC Flush Control Valve
The Easyflush (EF) no touch dual flush WC cistern valve is a replacement of the previous Easyflush Flush & Fill products (EF1C, EF2C, EF1E, EF2E and the Capacitance {electric field} version).
What is the minimum and maximum working pressure?
The Easyflush valve will safely operate between 0.5 and 6 bar inlet pressure. However the most effective operation flushing is obtained between 2-4 bar.
Can the lens be repaired if it is vandalised?
Yes, it may be possible to polish out the scratches depending on the level of damage. Using a very lightly abrasive polishing fluid, such as Brasso the lens can be brought back to a smooth finish.
How do I know if the sensor activation range is suitable and
how do I adjust it?
In order to find the activation range,move your hand very slowly towards the sensor lens. When the sensor detects your presence the WC will flush. If you feel that the range is not correct you have two options for changing it: either manually or via the remote control Infrared Configuration Unit (ICU) which comes with user instructions.
Manual adjustment is as follows: disconnect the power supply for 5 seconds and reconnect. Tip: make sure that the sensor is not pointing at any close objects when the power supply is reconnected.
When the sensor flashes amber place your hand 10cm from the sensor, (the amber flashing changes to a green flashing) keep your hand there until the sensor shows a constant green then remove your hand. The unit has now entered Configuration Mode. Now when the sensor shows a Single red flashing, place your hand in front of the sensor. A slow green flashing will be seen. Move your hand to the distance from the sensor to where you would like to set the maximum range, please bear in mind that a light coloured hand is more easily seen than a dark coloured one. Wait at this position for 8 seconds until the LED glows a constant green. Move your hand away from the sensor and wait for all flashing to stop.
How do I know if my refill time is suitable and how do I adjust it?
To check the refill time. First trigger a full flush by holding your hand in front of the sensor for less than 1 second. When the valve has flushed and started to refill, place your hand in front of the sensor again. The sensor will show a green triple flash indicating that it has recorded a flush request. If the refill time is correct, the valve should re-flush once the cistern has completely refilled. You may wish to change the refill time if either, it attempts to flush before the cistern is completely refilled, or if after refilling there is a long wait before you can flush.

How do I know if my part flush time is suitable and how do I adjust it?
In general, to ensure maximum water savings, the part flush should deliver half the volume of the full flush or less if possible. If you feel that the part flush time is not correct you have two options for changing it: either manually or via the remote control Infrared Configuration Unit (ICU) which comes with user instructions.
Manual adjustment is as follows: disconnect the power supply for 5 seconds and reconnect. Tip:make sure that the sensor is not pointing at any close objects when the power supply is reconnected. When the sensor flashes amber place your hand 10cm from the sensor, (the amber flashing changes to a green flashing) keep your hand there until the sensor shows a constant green. The unit has now entered Configuration Mode. Now wait until the sensor shows a triple red flashing, and place your hand in front of the sensor. The WC will start to flush and a green flashing will be seen. When the water has run for the desired part flush time, move your hand out of the line of sight of the sensor. The water will cease to flow, and the flush time will be set. Step away from the sensor and wait for all flashing to stop.
The valve seems to be leaking, what is wrong?
If the WC flushes normally with interaction with the sensor it is possible that there is debris preventing the valve from closing securely. However, if you stand in the sensing area and the sensor is flashing red slowly or not at all place your hand in front of the sensor to check if your batteries are dead and need to be replaced.
What happens if the WC is not used for long period? Will it not smell?
The Easyflush can be configured to deliver a 12hr hygiene flush function which triggers a flush every 12hrs of non-use. This keeps the u-bend replenished in long periods. This requires activation via the optional ICU remote control or factory setting.
The valve is not working, what is wrong?
If the sensor is flashing red slowly or not at all when you place your hand in front of the sensor it is likely that your batteries are dead and need to be replaced. If the sensor shows normal operation (one flash every 3 seconds when you stand in the sensing area) there may be something wrong with the valve or your water supply. Ensure that all stop cocks are on and that you have good pressure at the valve.
If the sensor shows normal operation but you are experiencing a shuddering noise from the valve, there is air in the system. Flush the valve repeatedly in the normal way to purge the system.
Other Alarms
Constant red flashing: faulty wiring or solenoid coil. Red flash twice every 3 seconds: sensor covered or heavily scratched.
