AV Range

AV Range

The AV Range is an anti-vandal range of washroom products for use in high risk situations such as sports centres, prisons, schools etc. It is deck mounted and has a single water inlet suitable for a premixed or cold supply.

How easy/difficult is the product to install?

The product is not difficult to install. It uses typical plumbing fittings and techniques. The electrical installation is very straight forward especially for the qualified electrician. An experienced BMS engineer would only be required, if the control is to be integrated into a Building Management System. However this is not a requirement.

What is the minimum and maximum working pressure?

The minimum working pressure is 0.5bar or 5m head. The maximum working pressure is 6bar.

How do I configure dual flushing of the WC?

When you program the flush time of the WC, program the time it takes to deliver just a part flush. Typically a time setting of 2 to 3 seconds is suitable. If a user then wants a full flush, they only have to press the button twice and the valve will deliver the full volume of water in the cistern. The actual full flush volume is determined by the height setting of the float.

What if I don't want dual flushing of the WC?

When you program the flush time of the WC, program the time it takes to deliver a full flush/empty the cistern. Typically a time setting of 7 seconds or greater is suitable. The actual full flush volume is determined by the height setting of the float. If a user presses the button twice the volume of water that the valve flushes is not affected, as this is determined by the float height.

What flow/flush times are recommended?

Recommended durations depend on the application and where outlets are being installed but typical durations are as follows:

  • Shower: 30-120 sec
  • Basin: 30-60 sec
  • Urinal: 5 sec
  • WC: 2-3 sec (if dual flushing is used)
  • WC: 7-10 sec (if dual flushing is not used)

What is the flow rate through the outlets?

The flow rates are as follows:

  • Shower outlets: 7 litres per minute
  • Basin outlets: 1.7 litres per minute
  • WC outlet: flow rate depends on combined WC suite but WRAS requires a flow rate of 1.2 litres per second. Urinal outlet: pressure dependent typically 4.2 litres per minute

How do you connect the system to a Building Management System?

Please refer to the installation instructions and we suggest a BMS engineer should be consulted.

How many products can be controlled by one control box?

Six

Do the products connected to the control box have to be the same i.e. all showers, all WCs?

One AV Six Channel Controller can control any combination of products.

What is the maximum distance that the control box can be installed away from the outlets?

20 metres maximum

Can the 3m cable be extended on the Piezo touch button

Yes, an additional 17 metres of cable can be added to a maximum total cable length of 20 metres.

Is there a no-touch sensor available instead of the Piezo button?

The AV six channel controller does not yet support no-touch sensors, however Cistermiser has a full range of no-touch outlets available.

What diagnostics are provided and where are they located?

Alarm warnings can be sent to a remote indicator or BMS when abuse, battery failure or memory failure has been detected.

Is repair and maintenance straightforward?

Repair and maintenance should be minimal and manageable for any qualified plumber or electrician.

Is it easy to clean the outlets?

The stainless steel outlets are resistant to chemicals and can therefore be easily cleaned.
